Learning how to take a good photograph can help with shooting a good video. As an amateur film maker I would typically shoot with a video camera but as I kept learning various types of cameras I came across a DSLR and I was not sure how to work it, this is where photography became a huge help. Learning how to set your aperture and ISO can effect the picture of what you are trying to film. Taking a photography course will definitely help define your video production.
